Event Overview

The Brakes Direct Border Ranges Rally (BDBRR) has a number of sub events offered to cater for the various state championships, series and categories.

The events are the BDBRR, MTA NSWRC, ECCRS, CAMS QRC, Qld Clubman and Novice Series, and Allcomers.

The Brakes Direct Border Ranges Rally is conducted over two days. All crews except the Qld Novice Crews and Allcomers are welcome to compete both days in the BDBRR if they choose.

Saturday has four short(ish) stages including three new stages run three times at 1 minute intervals for a total of approx. 107 km.

Sunday has three stages run twice at 2 minute intervals for a total of approx. 66 km.

Thursday: Rally HQ will be open most of the day for documentation for crews that arrive early.

Friday: Late morning there will be a 3 km shire road stage for media access rides, VIP and sponsor rides, and will also incorporate shake down runs for those who wish to do so. Hard Stand servicing will be available for this. Rally HQ will be open for documentation all day. Cost is $100 CAMS fee per competitor.

Reconnaissance will be available all day (times to be advised). Crews may wish to negotiate with the organisers regarding earlier reconnaissance times if they are participating in the Media rides. Qld Clubman and Allcomers may wish to do reconnaissance on Saturday for the Sunday stages if they are only competing Sunday. There is no reconnaissance for the Novice crews offered.

Friday night: Crews will need to be available late afternoon to attend a Promotional Start under lights in Kyogle and drivers briefing in town. Early finish for dinner.

Saturday’s competition will finish with a compulsory late afternoon / early evening blast around the showground under lights. This will not count towards the results.

No overnight parc ferme after the promo start or between Saturday and Sunday legs.

The MTA NSWRC, ECCRS, and CAMS QRC will be scored on Saturday’s competition only. However, these crews are invited to enter in the BDBRR for the two days as well.

All roads used in the Brakes Direct Border Ranges Rally (BDBRR) are shire roads close to Kyogle NSW.

This is a pace noted event, however, a full road book is available for crews who elect not to do reconnaissance. Note: There will be no differential in the scoring between crews who pace note and those who do not (except for the Novice crews).

Rallysafe is compulsory for ALL competing vehicles. Competing vehicles will need to be pre-fitted with the necessary Rallysafe mounting kit prior to scrutiny.

Smoothline Stage Notes will be available for purchase.  www.smoothline.com.au

Central servicing and short liaisons are a feature of this event. Service and Rally HQ will be at the Kyogle Showgrounds. Camping is available there as well.

The entry fee will reflect the various Championships and Series, CAMS fees and State regulations.

Saturday evening: Following the Showground stage the MTA NSW Championship, and ECCR Series awards will be presented.

Sunday finish: At the showground after lunch and then podium for outright BDBRR winners. The Queensland awards may be presented at a later date.

Each competing crew will be asked to supply one official, or one of the crew act as an official, for one day only of the three day event. A supplied official may not be required to act as an official when the crew is competing as there are a number of choices. It could be one member of the crew act as an official when they are not competing (compete one day, officiate the next). The opportunity for a service crew member to act as an official could include reconnaissance entry checks of crews, Friday set up of the stages, Saturday set up of the stages, Sunday tear down and clean-up of the stages.

This represents less than one quarter of the required officials to run this event.
